What if you already understand enough?
You can understand your attachment style.Know your childhood wounds.Recognize your triggers.Understand why you became anxious.Know why you people-please.Recognize why rejection affects you so deeply.Understand why you keep choosing unavailable people.Know exactly what you should do differently...…and still find yourself having the same reaction.Because there is an important difference between:UNDERSTANDING A PATTERNandCHANGING A PATTERN.Insight can help you understand what happened.Repatterning gives you a methodology for working with the pattern that continues to operate now.
You've probably tried adding more.
Another book.Another podcast.Another affirmation.Another journal entry.Another mindset technique.Another explanation.Another promise that next time you'll respond differently.Another attempt to think positively.Another strategy for controlling the behaviour. And some of those things may have genuinely helped. But then something happens.Someone withdraws. You're criticized. You feel rejected. You make a mistake.Conflict begins. An opportunity scares you.Someone doesn't choose you.And suddenly the old reaction is back. That doesn't necessarily mean you need another strategy. You may need to work with the pattern producing the reaction.
Most personal development asks:
“What do I need to ADD?”A better belief.A more positive thought.More motivation.More willpower.Another coping strategy.Another layer. The Spraggon Repatterning Method™ approaches behavioural change differently.Instead of continually attempting to overpower an unwanted response...you learn to identify and deconstruct the underlying pattern associated with it.In that sense, Repatterning is fundamentally subtractive.Rather than endlessly managing what the pattern produces...you learn to work with the pattern itself.NOT ANOTHER LAYER.
SUBTRACTION.
This is where Repatterning becomes very different.
When Adele Spraggon uses the word pattern, she isn't simply referring to a habit. And the pattern isn't simply a limiting belief. It isn't merely a repeated behaviour.Within the Spraggon methodology, the pattern is the interconnected internal experience involving:PHYSICAL SENSATION
+
EMOTION
+
THOUGHTImagine someone you love suddenly becoming distant. You might experience:PHYSICAL SENSATIONTightness in your chest.
A sinking stomach.
Heat.
Pressure.
Restlessness.EMOTIONFear.
Shame.
Anger.
Grief.THOUGHT“They're leaving me.”“I've done something wrong.”“I'm not enough.”“I'm going to be abandoned.”These aren't necessarily three unrelated experiences.Together, they can form the pattern operating beneath the reaction. And that pattern can influence what happens next.
Stop fighting only what you can see.
Consider the visible behaviour:You text again. You chase reassurance. You shut down. You become defensive. You procrastinate. You over-function.You avoid the conversation. You abandon the opportunity. You sabotage the relationship. It's tempting to conclude:“That's my problem.”But the behaviour may be downstream.Underneath it may be the interconnected:Physical Sensation + Emotion + Thoughtthat is driving the response. So instead of spending your life fighting the behaviour...Repatterning teaches you how to identify and work with the underlying brain pattern associated with it.
Your brain creates patterns.
And your brain can change patterns.Neuroplasticity refers to the brain's capacity to change and reorganize in response to experience and learning.Adele Spraggon describes Repatterning as:SELF-DIRECTED NEUROPLASTICITY.Rather than relying solely on motivation or consciously forcing yourself to behave differently, the methodology teaches a structured process for identifying and working with the neural pattern associated with an unwanted response. The objective is not:“How do I force myself to behave better?”The question becomes:“Does this pattern work?”And when the answer is no...you have something specific to work with.
The Spraggon Repatterning Method™
The methodology uses a structured four-step process.STEP 1 — IDENTIFYIdentify the emotional, physical and thought response associated with the unwanted behaviour or reaction.STEP 2 — OWNRecognize that response for what it is:a pattern operating within your own brain. This moves us away from blaming ourselves—or another person—and toward something we can actually work with.STEP 3 — DECONSTRUCTBegin teasing apart the neural circuit associated with the unwanted pattern. This is the subtractive heart of the methodology.Rather than trying to overpower the pattern...we deconstruct what isn't working.STEP 4 — REPLACEOnce the old circuitry has been deconstructed, the methodology allows for an upgraded pattern to emerge in its place.Identify.
Own.
Deconstruct.
Replace. This is the foundation of the Spraggon Repatterning process.
Before we repattern, we need somewhere meaningful to begin.
Many people arrive knowing that something hurts...but they aren't yet clear about what repeatedly activates them. You may say:“I can't stop thinking about my ex.”But what does their absence mean to you?Maybe:“I wasn't enough.”You may say:“I panic when somebody pulls away.”But underneath that experience may be:“People I love eventually leave.”You may say:“I constantly take care of everybody.”But underneath may be:“I have value when I'm needed.”That's why I've added a foundational Core Wound Identification & Pattern Mapping phase before we move deeply into the Spraggon methodology. We're going to get clear about the territory first. Then you'll learn how to work with the patterns you discover.
Nine Weeks From Understanding to Application
WEEK 1
CORE WOUND IDENTIFICATION & PATTERN MAPPINGWe begin by identifying the area of your life you want to work with and exploring the wounds, triggers, reactions and recurring behaviours surrounding it.The objective is clarity:What keeps happening? What activates you? What meaning do you assign to it?What are you ready to change?WEEKS 2–9
THE SPRAGGON REPATTERNING METHOD™You then move through the structured Repatterning curriculum and learn to apply the four-step methodology. You'll learn to recognize the emotional, physical and thought components associated with patterns that aren't working...take ownership of those patterns...deconstruct them...and develop the ability to work differently with the situations that previously activated them. The goal isn't simply to complete another course. The goal is to learn a methodology you can continue applying to your life.
Relationships may expose the wound.
But patterns can show up everywhere. You might discover this work because someone broke your heart. But Repatterning isn't a breakup program. And it isn't an attachment course.Patterns can influence:RelationshipsAbandonment fears
Rejection
Conflict
People-pleasing
Over-functioning
Jealousy
Emotional withdrawalSelf-WorthFeeling not enough
Feeling disposable
Perfectionism
Shame
Self-doubt
Difficulty receivingWork & PurposeProcrastination
Avoidance
Fear of failure
Fear of visibility
Fear of criticism
Difficulty making decisionsLifeStress responses
Habitual reactions
Difficulty adapting to change
Recurring emotional triggers
Old decision-making patternsThe situation changes. The people change. The environment changes. And yet sometimes...the same internal pattern follows us there.
There is nothing shameful about having patterns.
Your brain learned. It adapted. It associated experiences with responses. Some of those responses may once have made perfect sense. The question isn't:“What's wrong with me?”And it isn't:“Why can't I just get over this?”A much more useful question is:“DOES THIS PATTERN STILL WORK?”If it does, wonderful. If it doesn't...we don't need to shame it.We don't need to hate ourselves for having it.We can learn to work with it.
This may be for you if...
You've done significant personal-development work but continue repeating certain reactions. You understand your attachment wounds but still become activated by them. You've gained tremendous insight through therapy but want an additional personal-development methodology for working with recurring patterns. You repeatedly struggle with abandonment, rejection, inadequacy, people-pleasing or over-functioning.You recognize recurring behaviours that don't reflect who you want to become. You find yourself relying on willpower only to eventually fall back into familiar responses. You're tired of endlessly analyzing somebody else's behaviour. You're ready to stop asking:“Why are they doing this?”and begin asking:“WHAT IS HAPPENING INSIDE ME? AND,
CAN I CHANGE MY RELATIONSHIP WITH IT?”
This is the evolution of my work.
For a long time, much of my relationship work helped people understand what happened. Why someone withdrew. Why attachment systems activate. Why people deactivate. Why abandonment hurts so intensely. Why nervous systems respond the way they do.That understanding matters. But there is a point where endlessly decoding another person becomes another way of remaining attached to them.Eventually the work has to come home. From:Why did they leave?to:Why did their leaving make me feel worthless? From:Will they come back?to:Why does their return determine whether I feel okay? From:Are they regretting the breakup?to:Why do I need their regret to restore my worth? From:What is happening inside them?to:“WHAT PATTERN IS OPERATING INSIDE ME?”That is where transformation begins.
Which program is right for me?
THE DIFFERENTIATED SECURE METHOD™DSM teaches you to understand relationship dynamics and develop greater relational security. It focuses on:Attachment
Differentiation
Nervous-system regulation
Boundaries
Relational capacity
Discernment
Secure behaviour
Self-abandonment
Relationship decision-makingDSM asks:“How do I become more secure in relationships?”THE SPRAGGON REPATTERNING METHOD™Repatterning works with the underlying internal patterns associated with unwanted reactions and behaviours. It focuses on learning how to:Identify patterns
Own patterns
Deconstruct patterns
Allow upgraded patterns to emergeRepatterning asks:“What pattern is producing this response—and how do I work with it?”Neither program is a prerequisite for the other. You can complete either independently. And for people wanting both relational security and deeper pattern work, they can complement one another beautifully.
This isn't just about changing one problem.
One of the most important aspects of learning Repatterning is that you're learning a process. You may enter wanting to work with:A breakup.A rejection wound.People-pleasing.Procrastination.Fear.Self-doubt.A recurring relationship dynamic. But the larger objective is learning to recognize when a pattern isn't working...and having a structured methodology you can use to work with it.You're not simply working on today's problem.YOU'RE LEARNING ANOTHER WAY OF RESPONDING TO TOMORROW'S.

FAQs
Do I need DSM first?
No.DSM and Repatterning address different aspects of personal development and can be completed independently.
Is this only about relationships?
No.Relationships frequently reveal our deepest patterns, but the methodology can be applied to many areas of life where recurring reactions or behaviours aren't working.
Do I need to know my attachment style?
No.This isn't an attachment-style program.
What if I've already done therapy?
That's completely fine. Many people come to personal-development work with substantial psychological insight.Repatterning is not intended to replace therapy. It teaches a separate personal-development methodology for working with recurring patterns.
Is this therapy?
No.This is an educational and experiential personal-development program. It is not psychotherapy, psychological treatment, medical treatment or diagnosis, and it is not intended to replace appropriate care from licensed medical or mental-health professionals.
Do I need experience with personal development?
No.You need willingness to observe yourself honestly and participate in the process.
You may already know why.
Why you chase. Why you shut down. Why you over-give.Why rejection hurts. Why you procrastinate. Why you become afraid. Why you keep repeating something you promised yourself you wouldn't repeat again.Maybe the next chapter isn't another explanation.Maybe it isn't another attempt to force yourself to behave differently.Maybe the question is finally:“DOES THIS PATTERN WORK?”And if the answer is no...it's time to learn how to work with the pattern itself.
UNDERSTANDING CREATES AWARENESS.
REPATTERNING CREATES CHANGE.
You are more than the patterns you've learned.Your past can explain them without determining your future. You don't have to spend the rest of your life fighting the behaviours those patterns produce.Identify the pattern.
Own the pattern.
